Changelog and deprecation
What changed, and how much notice you get before something goes away.
Quick path
- Catalog snapshots are frozen monthly and kept by date.
- Breaking API changes get 90 days notice; model retirements get 60 days.
- Watch this page and the status page for notices.
Details
| Topic | Decision |
|---|---|
| Catalog | The model catalog is always the latest; frozen copies keep their date. Price or lineup changes appear first in the live table, then freeze at month end. |
| API breaking changes | New versioned prefix plus 90 days notice. Additive fields need no notice. See OpenAPI and SDKs. |
| Model retirement | 60 days notice with a named successor where one exists. Retirement notices list the last-served date and the replacement catalog row. |
| Price changes | 30 days notice for increases; decreases take effect immediately. Prepaid credits drawn before a change keep the old rate for work already served. |
| Where notices live | This page, https://status.merki.dev, and email to account contacts. |
